About Me

Michelle Simmons is a flexible, deadline-driven educational leader, teacher, and trainer with 20+ years of work experience in both private and public-school. Competent in creating curriculum and training development programs resulting in successful K-12 learning environments. Demonstrated record of managing, monitoring, and evaluating programs with proven ability to develop rapport and foster positive collaborations with community stakeholders, including parents, students, teachers, and professional practitioners. Michelle has worked with children with emotional and behavior disorders, learning disabilities, and delays. She is also a certified firearms instructor and former owner of Accuracy & Mindset Personal Defense Training.

Michelle has studied and worked abroad in Asia and Africa, enriching her perspective on global issues. She currently holds the position of President at the American Institute for Resource and Human Development, an esteemed organization that has been in existence over 20 years dedicated to addressing contemporary social, economic, cultural, environmental, and global challenges through education, human resource development, and research. Annually, AIRHD in collaboration with the US Department of Education provide grants through the Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad program to provide grants to support overseas projects to Ghana and Tanzania in curriculum development to teachers across the United States. Michelle currently serves on her local school board and enjoys working with fellow board members to improve student outcomes. In her leisure time, Michelle enjoys immersing herself in nature, traveling, and listening to good music.
